Day Time – The first element is known as an “Action Day”. Action Days are inspired by the work of musical performer The Polish Ambassador and his 2014 tour known as The Polish Ambassador’s Permaculture Action Tour. The day after every single performance, show-goers were encouraged to come out and actively participate in ecological and social permaculture efforts in their own city. The tour has led to a new “Action Day” movement and action days held by musical performers around the world.
Our goal is to spend the afternoon doing homeless outreach, cleaning up a park, building a garden, or planting trees! We will plant trees along our entire path to offset the impact of driving. We also plan to visit community farms and permaculture projects around the country when possible.
Evening Event – We will begin the event with a fifteen minute guided meditation. Afterwards, Johnny and Jeffer will share their experience living in The Free Thinker House in Houston and participating in a Freedom Cell. They will share tips on how to create your own FCs.
Second, Derrick will talk about the new book Manifesto of the Free Humans, Agorism, journalism, and Freedom Cells.
Finally, Jeffer and Johnny will both play some of their songs to close out the night! We want the event to represent all of the elements of the Conscious Resistance: mindfulness, solutions, community, and music.
DO YOU WANT TO HELP US BOOK YOUR CITY????
Volunteer/Facilitator help:
We are looking for help from at least one person in each city to help us coordinate the Action Day and an evening meditation/speaking event.
The Action Day is what we are calling our effort to connect to each community through volunteer work and to offset the impact we are making by driving around the country. We are looking to volunteer at a community garden, do a park cleanup, homeless outreach, or some other creative idea. This would ideally take place during the late afternoon before the night event.
The meditation/speaking/music event can be held at a house, bookstore, community center, or any other venue that is willing to host our ideas! We are not picky and enjoy being a part of the local scene. Also, we would love to have local activists and/or musicians participate in the event as well. If an activist wants to speak before us about their projects that would be awesome!
