After over two decades the 9/11 truth movement still pushes on confronting the lies of the official narrative and despite waning public interest is just as important today as it was 24 years ago.
It has been nearly twenty five years since the World Trade Center attacks of September 11th 2001, when thousands of Americans lost their lives in the most devastating attack on U.S. soil since Pearl Harbor. From the very beginning questions abound as to the cause, the perpetrators, the motive, and despite the public’s willingness to swallow down the official story, blinded by their own anger and manufactured hatred, the facts just didn’t add up.
In 2001 you were a traitor and a terrorist sympathizer for daring to question the official orthodoxy of 9/11, in 2010 you were a wing nut conspiracy theorist. In 2025 the Overton window has moved, and while questioning the official story of 9/11 can still get you some strange looks in some circles only the most naïve sufferers of statist Stockholm syndrome still buy the entirety of the official story. Most anybody with a semblance of common sense that has bothered to do the slightest bit of research realizes that we were lied to to some degree. Though most still fail to recognize the full extent.
Three years ago The Free Thought Project published A Crash Course In 9/11 Truth: 7 Documentaries You Need To See to serve as a comprehensive introduction or refresher for the reader to become familiar with the most pertinent pieces of evidence which refute and call into question the government’s official story of September 11th. These seven films run the gambit; from covering structural engineering and university studies by lifelong architects and engineers debunking the reports from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, eyewitness testimony from survivors as well as whistleblowers, thorough investigations linking U.S. politicians and intelligence agencies to the covert support for terrorist organizations, financial conflicts of interest, and more in an effort to elucidate upon the viewer the sordid reality that was a U.S. government facilitated terrorist attack on its own people.
Yet as the decades tick on and the goal posts move, as the public is bombarded with a deluge of propaganda, social engineering, manufactured outrage, and all types of fifth generation warfare, it seems as though this ever so pivotal point in world history has somewhat fallen to the wayside.
Where once 9/11 truth was the be-all-end-all of the truth and liberty movement, drawing thousands to attend truth rallies in New York City and Washington DC, often led by the families of the victims, most of the public have since tuned it out. Recycled for another tragedy of the moment, a new narrative, the current thing, and so on. Undoubtedly, yesterday’s brutal heinous murder of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk will be what dominates the headlines this September 11th rather than the state sponsored murder of thousands over 20 years ago.
Despite this the march of time does not stop new developments from being uncovered, as only weeks ago Judge George B. Daniels of the Southern District of New York in Manhattan ruled a lawsuit by 9/11 victims families can go forward against the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their complicity in the attacks.
There remains a contingent dedicated to advancing the noble cause of truth and justice as it relates to 9/11. Researchers, family, and activists determined to shine a light on that dark chapter of American history,
This year’s anniversary of 9/11 will be commemorated by a number of these individuals in Washington DC calling for a new investigation in light of the over two decades of revelations refuting the official story.
Over the course of three days, the event called Turning The Tide: 911 Justice In 2025 will be headlined by such speakers as Senator Ron Johnson, former US representative Curt Weldon, former US representative Dennis Kucinich, Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer, as well as former Free Thought Project Podcast guests such as Richard Gage of the American Institute of Architects and founding member of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, former CIA analyst turned whistleblower John Kiriakou, independent researcher Xander Arena, as well as one of the founding fathers of the 9/11 truth movement independent journalist and filmmaker Jason Bermas.
For many the significance of the 9/11 truth movement isn’t fully grasped. Yes, it is about seeking justice for the lives lost, and the grieving families that have had to endure over two decades of lies from their own government and finally receiving some form of closure or compensation for the loss of their loved ones on that fateful day. But on a deeper level the fight for 9/11 truth takes on even more meaning, the mission to unravel at least partially the sinister web of culpable culprits and the systemic corruption and institutionalized abuses that made it possible.
It’s about pulling back the curtain on an empire that not only allowed for September 11th to happen, but participated in it, planned it or some event like it years in advance, as the justification for authoritarianism at home and imperialism abroad. September 11th served as the pretext for the last decades of reckless wonton wars of aggression throughout the world under the justification of the War on Terror wreaking havoc in any country the US deemed necessary for regime change in its chess game to expand western unipolar hegemony.
Here at home 9/11 was used to pave the way for the complete usurpation of the constitution. Militarized police state, illegal search and seizure, warrantless mass surveillance, unconstitutional checkpoints, indefinite detention, censorship, prison-industrial complex, power grabs galore. The Patriot Act, drafted prior to 9/11 conveniently meeting all of the legislative requirements post 9/11, was the perfect implement of erasure for basic liberty for a faux security.
In later years it was the exact blueprint that paved the way for the draconian abuses of the COVID-1984 regime.
So while it is wise to heed the warnings of esteemed researchers such as James Corbett, to be wary of the official public disclosure of 9/11 truth being used as a limited hangout of sorts, that is all the more reason to be even more active in the fight for 9/11 truth to ensure it maintains its authenticity.
9/11 truth isn’t just about seeking justice for the victims and families of those who were lost. It is about seeking to dismantle the system that profits from neocolonialist wars of expansion, and domestic institutions of exploitation and oppression. It is about reclaiming one’s personal liberty from the clutches of the state and fighting for a better future for all of us. That is a cause which is just as if not more important now than it ever has been.
